A proposed solution for managing information about IT assets

Abstract

Cuba has given a correct importance to computing in recent years, contributing to the development and benefit of
society. It is evident the continued rise of technological equipment, heterogeneity and impact on various entities,
causing many of these bare not known with certainty the number, characteristics and status of IT assets. Thissituation causes wastage of resources, difficult generating reports to various agencies and procurement planning and priorities, reorganizing to achieve greater profitability, including decision-making processes. This article presents a
solution to the problems mentioned, which is an appropriate mechanism to register and update information on these
resources for later reference by managers at different levels. The core of this proposal it is an extensible web application, developed in line with the country's strategies to achieve technological sovereignty, which conforms to
the requirements of new technologies of information and is consistent with the principles of sustainable development.
